About Lambert & Ewers Smoked Meats
It was the turn of the century when my great-grandfather William Ewers emigrated to Iowa from Germany and opened his meat market in a small town nestled in the crook of the Des Moines and Missouri rivers. Strategically located, he knew the endless cornfields of Iowa would help produce hogs with the tender prime cuts he required for his old- fashioned hickory smoked meats.

My great grandfather supplied the people of this region with excellent smoked meats for years. But time passed, the growing meat packers hired away family members and grocery stores replaced specialty markets.

During my entire childhood, I knew someday I would own my own store and after graduating from college and spending a few unfulfilling years in the meat business, I decided to follow the dream. I obtained a small business loan, dusted off my great-grandfathers recipes and for the past 20 years have been duplicating the mouth watering meats he was making 100 years ago.
